Western North Carolina Coalition for a Moratorium
The Western North Carolina Coalition for a Moratorium refers to the activities of the North Carolina Coalition for a Moratorium in the Western part of the state. While the first official meeting of the WNCCM occurred in October of 2008 on the campus of UNC-Asheville, Moratorium activities and reform efforts have existed in Western North Carolina for over a decade.
In March 2009, the North Carolina Coalition for a Moratorium hired the first Western North Carolina Coordinator, Alex Cury. WNCCM and Alex’s efforts will be focused on coordinating the individual campaigns that already exist and fostering the
development of additional Coalition activities.
